CJP leader Sourav Das, who was released from detention, addressed a press conference and strongly criticized the government. He leveled several allegations against the government. Let’s find out what he said.
After being released from detention, CJP’s Saurav Das addressed the press, raising several questions. He alleged on Sunday that the fundamental rights of the group’s members were violated during police action ahead of a planned protest in Delhi.
Das alleged that some phones were confiscated and expressed concern that data on those devices could be accessed, cloned, or hacked. The party’s Mumbai coordinator, Pranay Ahire, was subjected to violence while in detention and required hospital treatment.
Das said the entire country is facing a state of emergency. The protesters simply want to express their concerns to the government. But today the government is waging a war against its own citizens. The entire city of Delhi has become a fortress with 40,000 security personnel.
(What important things did Sourav mention during the press conference?)
Attempt to tarnish the image of the movement: Sourav Das
Saurav said, “They’re trying to portray our movement as a bad thing by closing more than 50 metro stations, shops, and roads. They want to falsely highlight the Genji movement. When we landed, the police immediately came to the plane stairs and took us away. This is the same government that sent Modi and Vijay Mallya abroad on planes. We knew we would be detained, but we were taken away like this.”
Saurav said, “They didn’t provide any documents or reasons for detaining us. They forcibly confiscated our phones using female police officers. We still handed over our phones. We asked for a seizure memo, but they refused. They took us away in separate private cars. I was in RK Puram. Ashutosh was in Vallabhgarh. Abhijeet was somewhere else. We have a legal right to hire a lawyer, but the police refused.”
The government has completely lost its cool: Sourav Das
Saurav said, “The government has completely lost its cool. Everything is being done to protect Gyanesh Kumar, who is the number one traitor. The government is afraid that conscious youth will question them. That’s why they are resorting to violence. I appeal to the youth to protest peacefully on the streets. This system is corrupt. It is running to serve two people: Modi and Shah. The Delhi Police did not give us any formal notice of detention. Our phones were confiscated. We were not allowed to contact a lawyer.”
Right-wing groups accused of inciting violence
Furthermore, Sourav’s right-wing group instigated violence at Jantar Mantar . No FIR has been filed against them. They are assaulting protesters. Prannoy, a CJP leader, was assaulted in custody. Where is the NHRC? Are they sleeping? Where is the SC? You must have seen that right-wing groups are coming to Delhi in droves. They only want to create chaos and violence. They commit violence, but the government files cases against protesters. Furthermore, journalists are being assaulted. They are demanding journalists wear name tags. Independent journalists covering the GenZ movement are also being harassed. The Indian government is waging a war against journalism.
Gurdwara management was forced: Das
Saurav said, “Delhi Police forcibly entered Bangla Sahib with boots and weapons and detained protesters. They forced the Gurdwara management to remove the protesters. The end of this government is very near. I urge our Sikh brothers to help us and fight against them. There is an atmosphere of fear in our country. All this is being done for one person: to save Gyanesh Kumar. I want to ask, what information does Gyanesh Khumar have that the government is protecting him? Does he know anything about the 2024 elections?”
We have no rights in custody: Sourav Das
Saurav then explained, “We have no rights in custody. Imagine what they must be doing to others. We haven’t been allowed to meet our lawyers. We suspect what they might have done with our phones. We believe they hacked our phones or cloned them. They may have planted evidence. And that’s a reasonable suspicion, because they didn’t give us documents. They held our phones for over 25 hours.”
