Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched the first phase of the distribution process at a ceremony held at Lok Bhavan in Lucknow . Accounts benefited from the general category, other backward classes, scheduled castes, and minority communities.
In this phase, OBC students received the largest benefits. 223,615 OBC students received Rs 60.1 crore, 159,959 SC students received Rs 64.54 crore, 38,084 General category students received Rs 11.43 crore, and 38,901 Minority category students received Rs 12.6 crore. The combined total of these students exceeds 4.60 lakh, and the total amount exceeds Rs 148 crore.
Scholarships ranging from Rs 2250 to Rs 14000
The amount students receive varies depending on their category and eligibility. According to available information, scholarship amounts range from ₹2,250 to ₹14,000. Fee reimbursement provides a refund of eligible fees paid by students. Scholarship and fee reimbursement amounts are transferred directly to their bank accounts.
More than 65.95 lakh students to benefit in 2025-26
So far, in the 2025-26 fiscal year, more than 65.95 lakh students have been provided financial scholarships and fee reimbursements, amounting to over ₹4,793 crore. The government says that automating the entire system has helped streamline the application and payment process. This is emphasizing timely disbursement of funds to eligible students and maintaining transparency in the process.
