Mohammad Arman, a shooter from gangster Atiq Ahmed’s gang, has been found imprisoned in Gaya Jail, Bihar. The Uttar Pradesh Police had been searching for Arman for three years. The Uttar Pradesh Police had announced a reward of five lakh rupees for Arman, accused in the Umesh Pal murder case.
After receiving information about Armaan’s imprisonment in Gaya jail, police from Prayagraj’s Dhumanganj police station arrived in Gaya on September 30th. After reviewing jail records, the police identified Armaan. A recent photograph was taken and his thumbprint was also taken. After this, the UP police began preparing to take him to Prayagraj.
In which case is Armaan in jail?
Armaan is a resident of the Kathokar Talab neighborhood of Gayaji city. He returned after the Umesh Pal murder case. A case of firing was registered against him there. He was implicated in the firing at an egg shop in the neighborhood. He subsequently surrendered in court and was sent to Gaya Central Jail.
It is reported that Armaan has been lodged in Gaya Central Jail since February 27, 2023. During this time, the Prayagraj police continued to search for him as an accused in the Umesh Pal murder case.

It should be noted that on February 24, 2023, lawyer Umesh Pal and his two government gunmen were shot dead in broad daylight in Prayagraj. Armaan’s name surfaced during the investigation and CCTV footage that surfaced after the incident. Armaan and Guddu Muslim, an accused in the Atiq gang, were riding a motorcycle at the time of the incident. It is alleged that Armaan was driving the bike, while Guddu Muslim, riding pillion, fired shots at the scene. A reward of five lakh rupees was announced for his arrest.
Application for transit remandadmission
After finding Armaan in Gaya jail, the Prayagraj police have initiated the legal process to extradite him to Uttar Pradesh. On October 1st, the police filed an application for transit remand in the Gaya Civil Court. The hearing on the application is ongoing.
Armaan’s lawyer, Lalit Kumar Gupta, expressed fears that his life would be in danger if he were taken to Uttar Pradesh. He said that this was the reason why he requested a hearing via video conferencing, but the court refused. The lawyer also claimed that Armaan was being deliberately implicated in the Uttar Pradesh case.
