2006 Mumbai bomb blasts

In the case of serial blasts in Mumbai local trains on 11th July 2006, Bombay High Court has now declared 11 accused innocent and has also acquitted them.

The serial blasts in Mumbai local trains on 11 July 2006 shook the entire country. 189 people died in these blasts and more than 800 people were injured. 189 people lost their lives in the blasts of 2006. In this case, the Mumbai Sessions Court convicted 12 out of 13 accused in 2015. Now the Bombay High Court has declared 11 accused innocent and acquitted them. The entire timeline of this terrorist attack has come to light, which shows how Lashkar-e-Taiba, SIMI and Pakistani terrorists together carried out a well-planned conspiracy.

March 2006

In March, the conspiracy is hatched. Azam Cheema of Lashkar-e-Taiba plans the blasts at his mansion in Bahawalpur with two factions of SIMI and Lashkar-e-Taiba and their leaders.

11 May 2006

50 people are sent to their training camp in Bahawalpur. They are trained to make bombs, shoot guns and resist interrogation.

25 June 2006

Lashkar-e-Taiba infiltrates the attackers. Kamal Ansari (prime accused) takes two Pakistanis via Nepal border, Abdul Majeed takes five via Bangladesh border and an unidentified person takes four people from Kutch (Gujarat).

27 June 2006

11 people are kept at 4 different places in Mumbai suburbs. Two in Malad, four in Bandra, two in Borivali and three in Mumbra.

8-10 July 2006

The plot is hatched. Azam Cheema of Lashkar-e-Taiba plans the blasts at his mansion in Bahawalpur with two groups of SIMI and Lashkar-e-Taiba and their leaders.

11 July 2006

The terrorists split into seven groups, two Indian and one Pakistani. Each group carries a pressure cooker in a black rexine bag covered with newspapers. The terrorists get down at Churchgate station and board the train using the subway connecting the platforms. However, due to the crowd, one attacker is left behind in the train and is killed in the blast.

Ehsan Ullah brings 15-20 kg of RDX from Pakistan via Kandla. Ammonium nitrate is bought from Mumbai. 8 cookers are bought from two different shops in Santa Cruz.

9-10 July 2006

Bombs are made at Mohammed Ali’s flat in Govandi. Each cooker is filled with 2-2.5 kg of RDX and 3.5-4 kg of ammonium nitrate. Delivered to Sheikh’s house in Bandra.

11 July 2006
